Graduates of our Professional Pilot Program who meet Republic’s qualifications receive a guaranteed first officer interview for a position flying the Embraer 170/175, making this one of the most direct airline career pathways available to pilots training in the New York and New Jersey area. Century Air students also gain access to the RJet Pilot Prep Program and Republic’s industry-leading pilot incentives and contracts. Professional Pilot Programs
The Century Air Professional Pilot Program includes Private Pilot and Commercial Certificate courses as well as Instrument and Multi-Engine Rating courses. There are two professional pilot programs to choose from, and which program you choose depends on your career goals in the industry. The programs are identical through the private pilot and instrument training, however; they vary once you begin commercial and multi-engine training (see explanation below). Following the completion of a professional pilot program, a student may also choose to obtain a flight instructor certificate to begin teaching in the aviation industry.
Professional Pilot Program I
(Commercial Pilot with single and multi-engine land)

Professional Pilot Program I includes private pilot, instrument rating, commercial pilot, and multi-engine add-on rating training. Commercial pilot training is conducted primarily in single-engine aircraft, with the multi-engine rating completed as an add-on to the commercial single-engine certificate. This program results in a commercial pilot certificate with both single and multi-engine land privileges. The program can also be completed as single-engine only without the multi-engine add-on. All training is conducted at Essex County Airport (KCDW) in Caldwell, NJ using Century Air’s diverse fleet of Cessna, Piper, Beechcraft, and multi-engine aircraft.
Professional Pilot Program II (Commercial Multi-Engine Pilot)
Professional Pilot Program II includes private pilot, instrument rating, and commercial multi-engine pilot training. Commercial flight training is conducted primarily in multi-engine aircraft, and students typically log 30 to 100 hours of multi-engine flight time during the program. This program is the preferred pathway for students who want to maximize multi-engine hours before pursuing their Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate or applying for the Republic Airways first officer interview pathway. All training takes place at Essex County Airport (KCDW) in Caldwell, New Jersey, approximately 30 minutes from New York City.
